About NSS

National Service Scheme (NSS) of Morning Star Arts and Science College for Women has a rich history of community engagement and service. Established in 13.07.2018, the club has consistently exemplified the values of the National Service Scheme by actively participating in various social initiatives. Over the years, it has organized numerous impactful projects such as (rally, awareness programmes, blood donation camps, etc.,) contributing significantly to the welfare of the local community. The club has also been instrumental in nurturing leadership skills and instilling a sense of social responsibility among its student members. Its commitment to Not Me, But You has left a lasting impression on the college and the surrounding area.

Objective

  • The main objective of the NSS is to instill the idea of social welfare in students and provide community services without bias

  • Every volunteer works to ensure that who is the actual needy to get help for their living which promotes living standards

  • Student personality traits will be improved through community services

  • NSS volunteers should work by mingling with the community agents who represent the people

  • Finding inherent talent in his/her knowledge through community services

  • Develop creative and constructive social work action

  • Promote or to serve in the weaker section of the community

YRC

Youth Red Cross (YRC) Activities at Morning Star Arts and Science College for Women

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) at Morning Star Arts and Science College for Women actively engages students in humanitarian and community service activities. The key activities include:

  1. Health & Hygiene Awareness Programs Conducting seminars and workshops on personal hygiene, womens health, and disease prevention.

  2. Blood Donation Camps Organizing voluntary blood donation drives in collaboration with local hospitals and blood banks.

  3. First Aid Training Providing hands-on training in first aid and emergency response techniques.

  4. Environmental Initiatives Conducting tree plantation drives, plastic-free campus campaigns, and eco-awareness programs.

  5. Disaster Preparedness & Relief Work Training students in disaster management and engaging in relief activities during natural calamities.

  6. Road Safety Awareness Organizing campaigns on safe driving, traffic rules, and pedestrian safety.

  7. Community Outreach Programs Visiting orphanages, old age homes, and underprivileged communities to provide support and assistance.

  8. Women Empowerment Programs Conducting sessions on self-defense, legal rights, and gender equality.

RRC

The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) at Morning Star Arts and Science College for Women plays a vital role in spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS, health, and social welfare. The club actively engages students in various programs that promote well-being and social responsibility.

Key Activities of RRC:

  1. HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaigns Organizing seminars, workshops, and awareness rallies to educate students about HIV/AIDS prevention, transmission, and treatment.

  2. Blood Donation Drives Encouraging students to donate blood and raise awareness about the importance of safe blood donation.

  3. Health and Hygiene Awareness Programs Conducting health camps focusing on personal hygiene, reproductive health, and disease prevention.

  4. Peer Education Programs Training students to act as peer educators to spread knowledge about HIV/AIDS, STDs, and healthy lifestyle practices.

  5. Counseling and Support Services Providing guidance and emotional support to students regarding health and social well-being.

  6. Anti-Drug and Anti-Tobacco Campaigns Conducting awareness programs on the harmful effects of drug abuse and tobacco consumption.
